Lincoln's 2 year old checkup!

I still can't believe Lincoln is 2 years old. He is no longer a baby...much more like a little boy. :(

He had his 2 year old checkup with his doctor on Friday. First of all, we must say a prayer for his doctor and wife and thank God they are alive! He fell asleep at the wheel driving up to their cabin on Watauga Lake. He and his wife along w/ their animals went over a large embankment, knocked down two utility polls, and ended up submerged in frigid waters upside down. Luckily, he was able to free himself and pull his wife to safety as well as give her mouth to mouth because she had been submerged in water. He was unable to save their pets due to the car being submerged and the cold temperature. They had to walk to their cabin in order to call 911. Luckily, both the doctor and his wife are doing well now.

Finally, at Lincoln's doctor appointment we learned he still has a fat head (sorry son) and is tall and skinny. He is doing very well in his development. He talks and talks and talks....he can almost complete a sentence but loves to say at least two words. He can tell you his name, and he says it "inkon christo guer downs". He's only missing a few syllables. He says please and thank you and has the funniest laugh. He has learned to count to 13 and now knows all his primary colors. We are still working on his ABC's. He knows a bunch of animals and loves to tell you what sounds they make or imitate them (i.e. walks like a penguin)...too funny. For those of you who know what his room looks like, he knows most of the animals and objects on his map that is painted on his wall. We have flashcards we go over, and he knows almost all the items on his flashcards. He loves to read and enjoys watching Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go. He is loving his gymnastics class although he is a wild man at times. He also went to daycare (at the gym) for the 1st time ever. Neither him nor Mommy cried...haha. He enjoyed it but we only did it for about 30 minutes to see how it went. He was patiently waiting by the window when Mommy went downstairs to get him. Hopefully, he will be able to meet and play with other kids his age.

All in all, he is a healthy, happy, VERY ACTIVE young boy and is doing great. We are blessed.

Happy 2nd Birthday Lincoln

Lincoln's birthday is officially on Monday, but we had a Shrek birthday party on Saturday so everyone could be there. Granddad and Grandma Downs and Aunt Rosemary came up from Chattanooga, Uncle Bennie, Miss Jen and Kobi came up from Charlotte, and a bunch of our family and friends came over who live in town. We had great food, good times and Lincoln got lots of presents...THANKS!

Happy 2nd Birthday sweet, gracious baby boy. Your Mommy and Daddy love you so much! :)

Lincoln started a new class....

Today, Lincoln started gymnastics class. There are a bunch of little girls and a few boys. We have trouble finding things to do for kids his age around here in the winter, and we found out about this gymnastics class through a friend who takes her daughter. Lincoln had so much fun! In fact, so much that we had to convince him to leave and even had a breakdown moment where we had to collect ourselves outside the room. He wanted to play on everything. First, we got to do some stretching then we went out to the main gymnastics floor and had fun jumping on trampolines and flipping over mats then back to the small gym to jump and tumble then we sang songs and danced...what fun!! Lincoln got four stamps on his feet and hands and had an excellent first day at gymnastics!
